Concert Shooting

We were treated to a free concert last night and boy was it fun!  DH and I took it as an opportunity to experiement a bit and see what we could come up with.  I shot with my 100mm f/2.8, needed the length and the speed.  Some of the pictures came out a lot better than I thought they would.  We took over 500, but threw more than half of those away right away.  We could probably do with trashing some more too.  It sure stinks to be short though; so many of my photos--pretty much all of them--have heads in the bottom of the frame and people kept walking in front.  Oh well.  I can't wait for the next one to come through, I think we'll be better prepared.

Tips and Tricks 1

I've been following a challenge thread at scrapbook.com and am currently on the waiting list for it.  But, I thought in the mean time I'd play around.  I'm always looking for a good challenge and have actually been slacking on the 26 Things this round--shame on me!

The first challenge was to take three subjects and photograph them two different ways: feet, tea and music.  I didn't get it finished to my liking, but I am happy with some of the shots I got.

For the second challenge, it was to focus on a close up of things patriotic, in nature and water.  I didn't do the close-ups so much, but had a lot of fun with the water and nature shots.

I suppose I need to work more on this one.  I have some ideas, I'm just not sure when I'll be able to get to them.  I also did another photoshoot today.  It was a lot of fun.  I'm hoping to get permission to post a photo or two.
